This is the latest poem I have written, and I am quite happy with the way it turned out. I want to use this blog to also showcase my work, and I am hoping this will inspire you to keep writing, and also to provide feedback on my posts. Please let me know what you think!

my first snow globe
i grasp my souvenir
of the perfect world i once lived in,
cupping my hand,
around the fragile glass.
gently, i shake my snow globe,
creating my own haphazard storm.
i look carefully,
at my warped reflection,
dancing around with the snow.
how would it feel,
to live in a snow globe?
to walk around,
endlessly, in circles.
letting the snowflakes fall
delicately on my tongue.
not another care,
in the cold, brutal world.
i note the way the background dilates,
as i peer through the glass.
i shake the globe vigorously once more,
and slide out of my palm.
it shatters on the wooden floor,
along with my dreams.
i never got a snow globe again.
Thank you guys for reading this, I really appreciate it. Please comment what you think about it and if there is a way I can improve my poetry. Finally, don't forget to enter the Student Writing Feature, starting this Sunday! More information is on my home page.
