My Inspiration as a Student Writer | Prevent Writer’s Block

Writers of all ages, from many places, may experience writer's block at some point. Writer's block is the slowdown of creative or new ideas. In order to prevent writer's block, here are some of the ways I inspire myself to keep writing and help you to do the same.

Works of other authors. Authors inspire me to be like them, and this is true for myriad writers. Reading through these works bring new ideas from a fresh perspective.

Nature. Nature can be something that takes you through a different dimension, and many famous works of poetry are nature-inspired.

Pictures. Pictures on Google Images or Pinterest can be inspiring when coming up with ideas for your latest writing project.

Understand your goals for writing. What is it you want to accomplish? Maybe you want to make your first story, or you want to create a collection of poems by the end of the year. Whatever it may be, set a goal and accomplish it to motivate yourself.

Don't write in the same place every time. A change of location often brings new ideas and inspiration which can improve your writing.

Write with others. Having a writing group or partner can lead you to get inspiration and inspire them.

Have fun. Don't just write because you have to. Write because you want to.
